We currently have aCompound & Transportation Managerposition available at ourGastonia, NClocation.DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:Manage the Compound Plant and Shipping & Receiving department to achieve stated HS&E goals:Work aggressively to prevent injuries to personnel, implementing proactive systems that help prevent accidents through training, good housekeeping and procedures, and by instilling a team-oriented safety focus.Manage the Compound Plant and Shipping & Receiving departments to ensure high quality products and service to our customers:Decrease the number of customer complaints, problems and returns, as well as the percent of non-first time prime and non-conforming product; Ensure corrective/preventive action system is fully implemented and aggressively pursued to eliminate the recurrence of problems; Maintain the systems needed for ISO 9002 certification.Manage the Compound Plant and Shipping & Receiving department to achieve cost goals:Develop and operate within the operating budgets; Achieve finished goods, raw materials and NWSM inventory goals.Utilize the PCM process, training, coaching and career planning to develop each member of the Compound Plant and Shipping & Receiving department teams to their full potential:Continue to evolve the culture of the Gastonia Compound Plant operation to position the plant for long-term success; Upgrade the Compound Plant’s process equipment, procedures and organization to meet the Business needs today while supporting growth plans for the future; Provide the vision needed to support the Business growth plans for the future; Provide the leadership to ensure that the Compound Plant and S&R department are clearly seen as working in close partnership with the business unit. SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SPECIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor’s degree in engineering.Minimum ten years experience in Chemical Processing Industry, at least five years chemical plant manufacturing experience.Five years management experience.Good interpersonal skills, strong supervisory skills.
